Prior to the Book of Isaiah the knowledge and personality of God was very limited within human knowledge. The people who lived prior to King David writer of many of the Psalms and Isaiah who wrote the book of Isaiah had a very limited knowledge of who God actually is as a Person and how to interact with God as a Person.

Note: The gold Tongs are for the Golden Incense Altar inside the Temple – the bronze Altar of sacrifices outside the Temple used bronze shovels and rakes.

☆ If you want an actual personal interaction with God the way Isaiah did in chapter six where Isaiah saw the LORD Jesus Christ (Melchizedek) High, Exalted and Seated on His Throne in the Palace Throne Room with His Priesthood Authority (Robe) filling the inside of the Temple – you must spiritually be inside the Temple as Isaiah was – you can’t actually experience God in this Holy and Intimate way from outside the Temple – you have to move past the sin sacrifice, past the bronze altar of sacrifices and into the Golden Holy Place inside the Temple of God and into the Presence of God.

Then one of the Seraphim (from inside the Temple) flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal (of Incense) that he had taken from the (incense) altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said: Now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, and your sin is atoned for. – Isaiah 6:6-7 CSB

Solomon also made all the equipment in God’s Temple: the gold altar (of incense); the tables on which to put the Bread of the Presence; the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold to burn in front of the inner sanctuary according to specifications; the flowers, lamps, and gold tongs—of purest gold; – 2 Chronicles 4:19-21

Why Isaiah is the Key to Understanding the Entire Bible

The Old Testament Prophet Isaiah saw Jesus Christ ‘Melchizedek’ in a Vision as he saw Jesus as both the King seated on the Throne and the High Piest as the Robe of the King filled the Temple.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I (Isaiah) saw the Lord (Jesus Christ) seated on a High and Lofty Throne (Jesus Christ – Eternal King), and the Hem of His Robe filled the Temple (Jesus Christ – Eternal Melchizedek High Priest). – Isaiah 6:1 CSB

1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty Throne, and His robe filled the Temple.

2 Seraphim (God’s ministering Angels) were standing above Him; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

☆ 3 And one ‘Seraphim’ called to another: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) of Hosts; His Glory fills the whole earth. – repeated in Revelation 4:8.

4 The foundations of the doorways shook at the sound of their voices, and the Temple was filled with ‘incense’ smoke. – Isaiah 6:1-4

Isaiah was cleansed by a burning incense coal from the incense altar from inside the Temple

The burning coal didn’t directly cleanse Isaiah – it was that the burning coal came from the inside of the Temple – it was the location (inside the Temple) of the object not the object itself that cleaned Isaiah.

For those of you who were baptized (identify with) into Christ have been Clothed with Christ. – Galatians 3:27

For a Christian to be Clothed with Jesus Christ “Put on Christ” (Romans 13:14) is to be located in the same Heavenly, Holy & Clean location and standing as Jesus Christ i.e. Isaiah being cleansed with an incense coal from inside the Holy Temple.

5 Then I (Isaiah) said: Woe is me, for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips, and because my eyes have seen the King (Jesus Christ), the Lord of Hosts.

6 Then one of the Seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal that he had taken from the altar (incense altar inside the Temple) with tongs.

Melchizedek is mentioned 3 times in the Bible – twice in the Old Testament once with Abraham (Genesis 14:18-20) and once with King David (Psalm 110:4) the two most important people in the Bible’s Old Testament.

The King of Righteousness and of Peace the Eternal Melchizedek is mentioned in the New Testament book of Hebrews as Jesus Christ himself in a pre-incarnate appearance.

The Appearance of Melchizedek

The Old Testament Appearance of Melchizedek to Abraham (Genesis 14:18, John 8:56) was in preparation for the 1st Coming of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day (appearance as Melchizedek): and he saw it, and was glad. ~ John 8:56 KJV

The Old Testament faith of Abraham (Romans 4:16) was waiting for the Messiah Jesus Christ that had already made an Appearance in Melchizedek.

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the Promise might be sure to all the seed (descendants); not to that only which is of the ‘Jewish ‘ law, but to that also which is of the Faith of Abraham; who is the ‘faithful’ father of us all, ~ Romans 4:16 KJV

The Old Testament Jewish people in waiting for their Messiah were not waiting for a stranger or for an event that hadn’t happened – the Messiah Jesus Christ had already appeared to the Jewish people in Abraham.

The Christian New Testament Church is likewise waiting for the return of the incarnate Jesus Christ the Messiah in His 2nd Coming – a second physical apperance. The Church is waiting with full knowledge that Jesus Christ having already been present once physically will return physical in His presence to Reign and Rule in His Glorious Kingdom for Eternity.
